DAM FOUNDATION UNVEILS TRANSFORMATIVE INITIATIVES IN KOGI ..... Focuses on equipping youths and small-scale entrepreneurs.

It was a beehive of activities recently in Okene, Kogi state as the DAM Foundation, a non-profit organization marked the unveiling of three transformative initiatives aimed at strengthening education, community development, and economic empowerment.  The event which was witnessed by the Executive Governor of Kogi state, His  Excellency, Usman Ahmed Ododo, also had the Director General of Energy Commission of Nigeria ECN, Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi. The event underscored the Foundation’s growing role in driving people-centered development and redefining socio-economic progress in the state. Yuletide: FCCPC Cautions Road Transporters Against Arbitrary Fare Hike

Following a surge in consumer complaints across several parts of the country, the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has cautioned inter-city road transport operators against arbitrary and unexplained fare increases during the ongoing yuletide travel period. In a statement signed by Ondaje Ijagwu  Director, Corporate Affairs of the Commission, it stated that, "The Commission recognises that seasonal demand, operational pressures and other legitimate cost factors may affect transport pricing. However, consumers are entitled to clear, accurate, and timely information on fares before travel. Any fare adjustment must therefore be transparently communicated and applied fairly. "The FCCPC also notes that these complaints are arising at a time when there are reports of reductions in the pump price of premium motor spirit across parts of the country. FCCPC UNSEALS IKEJA ELECTRIC HEADQUARTERS

The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has unsealed the headquarters of Ikeja Electric Plc after the company committed to a binding undertaking to comply with the remedial process following consumer rights violations. The headquarters was earlier sealed on December 11, 2025, because Ikeja Electric failed to comply with a NERC directive to unbundle a Maximum Demand account into 20 individual accounts for a customer who had been without power for over two and half years. Ikeja Electric undertook to resolve all consumer complaints referred to it by the FCCPC within agreed timelines.  Any breach of the undertaking would expose it to renewed and escalated enforcement action under the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act. Reacting, the Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the FCCPC, Mr Tunji Bello, said the Commission’s intervention was necessary to enforce the provisions of the FCCPA (2018). “Our responsibility is to ensure that c...

Gives Hope To Nigerians suffering From River Blindness/ Elephantiasis. The Federal Government of Nigeria and SightSavers, an international charity working to prevent avoidable blindness, fight disease and support equality for women, girls and people, have recorded a public health milestone. The success which was made possible through a project called BLON Project in collaboration with Bill Gates Foundation is a major public health initiative in Nigeria, designed to assess and stop the mass administration of drugs for lymphatic filariasis (elephantiasis) and onchocerciasis (river blindness),   Professor Joy Shaibu, Country Director of SightSavers.
