* Interim Report Documents Abuse During Xmas Season * Probe of Foreign Airlines Next A review has been undertaken by the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC)which uncovered patterns of price manipulation perpetrated by some local airlines during the last festive season.  The findings are contained in the interim report released today (Thursday) by the Commission’s department of Surveillance and Investigations.  The Commission announced an industry-wide investigation earlier in January.  The forensic exercise benefitted from data collated by the Commission from airlines operating local routes in the country.  The report compares domestic airline pricing from the December 2025 festive period with post-peak January 2026 fare levels. Chairman-Elect of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon. Christopher Maikalangu, has donated a borehole to the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council. The Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) has alerted the public to the activities of fraudsters impersonating as officials of the Commission and offering fake contract deals in a bid to extort money from unsuspecting victims. The disclaimer is contained in a statement signed by Eniola Akinkuotu, Head of Corporate Communication and Media,  issued on Monday by the Commission,  the regulator warned that certain unscrupulous individuals have been circulating false procurement offers, claiming to act on behalf of the NUPRC.  The agency said the perpetrators deploy tactics such as name-dropping and spreading misinformation on social media to lend credibility to their fraudulent schemes. The Commission categorically distanced itself from such activities, stressing that it does not authorise third parties to solicit payments or facilitate contract awards on its behalf. Uba Sani has been called upon to alleviate the sufferings of traders in the state who were displaced during the  administration of former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai. During a protest held in Kaduna, the community of traders from different markets took to the streets in Kaduna,, demanding justice and intervention from Governor Uba Sani after their stores were demolished by former Governor Nasir El‑Rufai.  The protest, marked by chants and placards, reflects the deep frustration of traders who have lost their livelihoods. It could be recalled that the demolition, which took place during the Mallam Nasir El-Rufai's administration was part of El‑Rufai's urban renewal project, which aimed to modernize the market areas.
