The Director-General (DG) of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, has called on managers of the Scheme's ventures to be receptive to new ideas that will make their operations conform to global best practices. The Governor of Kaduna State, Sen. Uba Sani has been called upon to alleviate the sufferings of traders in the state who were displaced during the  administration of former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai. During a protest held in Kaduna, the community of traders from different markets took to the streets in Kaduna,, demanding justice and intervention from Governor Uba Sani after their stores were demolished by former Governor Nasir El‑Rufai.  The protest, marked by chants and placards, reflects the deep frustration of traders who have lost their livelihoods. It could be recalled that the demolition, which took place during the Mallam Nasir El-Rufai's administration was part of El‑Rufai's urban renewal project, which aimed to modernize the market areas. However, traders claim they were not given adequate notice or compensation, leaving them without a source of income. The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has uncovered what it described as one of the worst counterfeit medicine operations in recent years, seizing over 10 million doses of fake and banned drugs hidden in warehouses in Lagos State.  The agency said the illicit products, valued at over ₦3 billion, were recovered from multiple warehouse structures located around the Trade Fair–Navy axis of the state. Briefing journalists in Lagos NAFDAC’s Director of Investigation and Enforcement and Chairman of the Federal Task Force on Fake and Substandard Products, Martins Iluyomade, said the discovery followed intelligence gathered during a training meeting held on February 3. “Acting on information from that meeting, our team visited the location and found multiple warehouse structures built like residential houses but used solely for storage,” Iluyomade said. Members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) enlisted as digital champions under the Federal Government's Digital Literacy for All (DL4ALL) programme have trained over 500,000 Nigerians in basic digital skills since the commencement of the initiative. The Director-General (DG) of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA),  Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, disclosed this today at the NYSC Headquarters, Abuja, while presenting 8 laptop computers to Corps Members that were adjudged as outstanding in both their training and field performances at the national level of the exercise. In continuation of its renewed onslaught against the activities of organized criminal elements targeting vulnerable Nigerians, the National Agency for the Prohibition of trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has rescued and repatriated 23 Nigerian youths suspected to be victims of human trafficking from Thailand.  The operation was carried out with the support and collaboration of Eden (Myanmar), with critical assistance from the British Government. The victims who have arrived in Nigeria were deceived, recruited, and trafficked to some Southeast Asian Countries like Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia,  for cyber – enabled crimes such as romance scam, cryptocurrency-related fraud, and investment scam in the destination Countries. The discussions was centred on strengthening Nigeria-United States collaboration in security, humanitarian response, health, and economic development. As part of the renewed onslaught on the activities of some human traffickers across the Country, the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has raided a popular, highly rated Hotel (Name withheld) located around the famous 33 areas of Onitsha, Anambra State. Four suspected traffickers were arrested, while 17 alleged victims of human trafficking were rescued. Also, during the coordinated operations, which was carried out with the support of the Military, two suspects allegedly involved in the selling and buying of babies within the States of the South East Region, were apprehended.
