FG, Edo State Strengthen Collaboration on River Basin Protection and Food Security

The Federal Government and the Edo State Government have reinforced their commitment to strengthening collaboration aimed at protecting critical River Basin facilities and enhancing food security across the state. Nigeria Hosts Western African Sub- Regional Ministerial and Technical Advisory Committee

The Federal Government of Nigeria through the Federal Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation has  hosted the Western African Sub-Regional Ministerial and Technical Advisory Committee Consultation on Formulation of the first implementation plan (2026-2033) of the Africa Water Vision 2063 and policy. ‎Discussions at the 3-day consultation which commenced in Abuja, Nigeria, discussed  majorly on critical issues which exert unprecedented pressure on Africa's water resources and provide opportunities to articulate priorities and come out with meaningful strategies that will shape the implementation plan (2026-2033). ‎At the event. the Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation and African Ministerial Council on Water (AMCOW) Vice President for Western Africa, Engr. Water Resources/ Sanitation Ministry Commits To Successful Implementation Of ACReSAL Project In The Country.

Nigeria's Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation Engr. Prof. Joseph Terlumun Utsev, has reaffirmed the commitment of his Ministry to the successful implementation of Agro-Climate Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscape ACReSAL project in the country.  Prof. Utsev who is also Co-Chairman, Steering Committee of ACReSAL stated this on Thursday at the ongoing  Mid-Term Review Steering Technical Committee meeting of ACReSAL in Kaduna. FG Moves To Stabilise Poultry Prices Nationwide

The Federal Government has announced plans to curb the escalating prices of poultry products in the country as part of its broader efforts to ensure affordability and availability of poultry products nationwide. The Minister of Livestock Development, Idi Mukhtar Maiha, disclosed this when the National Leadership of the Poultry Association of Nigeria (PAN), led by its President, Sunday Ezeobiora, paid a courtesy visit to the Ministry in Abuja on Monday, 27th April, 2026. The Minister said that government approach is to target  key cost drivers in the poultry value chain—particularly feed, energy, and inputs—while expanding support for smallholder producers.
