Federal Ministry of Livestock Development Embarks on pest control Surveillance in South - east and South -South Geo political Zones
The Federal Ministry of Livestock Development has embarked on another round of Surveillance and pest control in the Abia State, South east and South -South geopolitical Zones. The Excercise commenced on Monday 29th June, 2026, when the team visited the State Commissioner of Agriculture in his Office. Speaking during the visit , the State Commissioner said that , Abia State Government is partnering with the Federal Ministry of Livestock Development (FMLD) , to checkmate incidents of Tse-tse fly and other pests in the state. The state Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr Cliff Agbeze, said this when the FMLD team led by Mr Gilbert Okoro, Team Lead, FMLD, Tse-tse fly Surveillance and Control Project, visited him in his office in Umuahia.
