The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), Mr. Olumuyiwa Enitan Abel, has charged officers on Grade Levels 8–14 to take ownership of the ongoing Civil Service reforms, strengthen their professional capacity and contribute meaningfully to improved, citizen-centred service delivery This is  as part of his sustained engagement with staff across the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (OHCSF), . The Federal Government has intensified efforts to restore full motorability on the critical Bida–Lapa–Lambata and Maje–Dikko road corridors in Niger State. This as the  Minister of State for Works, Hon. Bello Muhammad Goronyo, inspected the projects and while also directing contractors to accelerate remedial, palliative and permanent works. The inspection, which took place on Thursday, 24 September 2026, formed part of the Federal Ministry of Works’ sustained monitoring of critical road projects across the country, particularly inherited projects requiring urgent intervention to improve road safety, ease traffic movement and enhance connectivity. The Federal Government has called for strengthened collaboration among government institutions, communities, development partners, the private sector and other stakeholders to accelerate efforts towards the elimination of rabies in Nigeria. The call was made on Friday, 25 September 2026, during activities to commemorate the 2026 World Rabies Day, with the theme: “Stronger Together: Ending Rabies in Nigeria. The Managing Director/Chief Executive of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), Mr Oluwaseun Faleye, has said individual ownership of retirement planning cannot replace institutional responsibility, insisting that retirement security is built during working life, not at the point of exit from service. The Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi,  has received an assessment report by the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) on Federal Government road infrastructure projects inspected across the North-West Zone.  The report was presented to the Minister at the Ministry’s Conference Hall, Mabushi, Abuja, by the President of NANS, Comrade Akinteye Babatunde Afeez.  The assessment followed a nationwide student-led inspection initiative aimed at enabling Nigerian students to obtain first-hand information on the progress, quality and relevance of Federal Government infrastructure projects. The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has updated the public on the ongoing restoration works along the 330kV Kainji–Birnin Kebbi Transmission Line, following the collapse of tower T367 along the line corridor, recently. TCN noted that  significant progress has been recorded at the affected location in Yauri, where restoration activities are being carried out. According to the Management of TCN, the collapsed transmission tower has now been completely dismantled and decommissioned, while the conductors and skywire have been properly aligned and prepared for the next stage of the restoration process. "In addition, an Emergency Restoration System (ERS) tower has been moved to the site and is ready for installation. "This will be followed by cable stringing and associated works towards the restoration of the affected transmission line. The nationwide inspection of Federal Government road projects by the leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has given a fresh dimension to the conversation around the infrastructure programme of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, with the Minister of Works, Senator Engr. As Pertamina Eyes 2026 Licensing Round Indonesian National Oil Company, Pertamina has signaled an interest in the upcoming 2026 licensing round. This is as the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) and Indonesia has  opened discussions on petroleum investments. This is as a result of a recent meeting between the Chief Executive of NUPRC, Mrs. Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan, and Indonesia's Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Arif Havas Oegroseno; and Toriq Abdat, the Vice President for upstream business development at Pertamina.  Eyesan said the two countries come to the table with similar priorities which are energy security, resource utilization and attracting investments. The talks stemmed from the determination of  both countries to work and increase production. The Federal Government  has commenced an emergency intervention to address the persistent traffic gridlock along the Maje-Dikko axis of the Suleja–Minna corridor. This is as the Minister of State for Works, Rt. Hon. Bello Muhammad Goronyo, directed the concessionaire to complete the immediate remedial works within 48 hours to restore the free flow of traffic. Goronyo gave the directive on Friday, 18th September 2026, during an inspection of the affected section of the road, where he expressed concern over the hardship being experienced by motorists, commuters, truck drivers and other road users who have been trapped in the gridlock for several days.
