On Wednesday, June 10, a Nigerian aircraft developed problems while trying to land at Asaba Airport in Delta State. Unable to complete its landing at the airport, the aircraft eventually landed on a concrete road near Ogwashi-Uku. What could have ended in tragedy is now a story of survival. All crew members on board escaped without injury. As aviation authorities investigate the incident, many Nigerians have pointed to an important lesson: good infrastructure can make a difference when it matters most. Federal Ministry of Livestock Development has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening service delivery, accountability and transparency through the establishment of a Ministerial SERVICOM Unit and the development of a Service Charter to enhance citizens' access to quality public services. The Minister of Works, Sen. Engr. David Umahi, has issued a strong warning to contractors handling Federal Government road projects, urging them to fulfil their contractual obligations and eliminate the factors that give rise to unwarranted criticism of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,  Speaking during an extensive inspection tour of ongoing road and bridge projects in Kogi and Edo States, the Minister expressed dissatisfaction with the pace of work on some sections of the Abuja-Lokoja Dual Carriageway and the Dualisation of Obajana Junction -Benin Road.  He disclosed that, due to funding constraints, the scope of one of the Sections of the Abuja-Lokoja road had to be reduced from 49.28 kilometres to 28 kilometres to concentrate available resources on the most critical portions. A new partnership between  with the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission and the  Nuclear Regulatory Authority to rid the upstream sector of harmful radioactive elements has been established. The new collaboration is in order to enforce radiological safety in oil and gas operations and reduce the overall cost of operations. The Nigerian Government and the Kingdom of Denmark have reaffirmed their shared commitment to advancing sustainable livestock development, food safety, animal health, and agricultural innovation. Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) has been commended  for making oil and gas data available and transparent. The commendation was made by the head of the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS)  Prince Semiu Adeyemi Adeniran, when he visited the NUPRC headquarters in Abuja Adeniran, who was accompanied by top management of the NBS, said oil and gas contributes significantly to Nigeria’s economy and thus cannot be ignored in data collation. He noted that the NBS is not only the central custodian of data in Nigeria but is also the apex agency responsible for developing, managing, and disseminating official statistics to guide government policies and national development. The Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi,  has expressed satisfaction with the quality and pace of work on the Reconstruction and Expansion of the 43.65-kilometre Mararaba–Keffi Road.  He made the remarks while inspecting ongoing Federal Government road projects in the FCT and Nasarawa State. The contractor on the Mararaba–Keffi (Keffi Bound) Road project is China Harbour Engineering Company(CHEC) Ltd.
